Retrogrades, Staleness, and Sparks?

Picture this, you are going through the motions of performing your daily rituals, the one’s that would get you through the day. The rituals were what used to keep you going. Lately though, the rituals feel stale. There isn’t the same joy running through your body and the rituals aren’t activating you like they used to. Does this sound familiar? If so, keep reading because this is a flavor of Venus in retrograde.

We are currently experiencing both Mercury and Venus in retrograde. What that means is that this is a time to review what is and isn’t working in our relationships and in communication. My personal experience has been more of an internal review. My tools in my toolbox don’t have the same umph and power that they used to. Joy is harder to come across, even with practicing daily gratitude and generally being in a state of gratitude.

The sting from the full moon in Virgo that I wrote about in the previous post and the grief of it all, still lingers. So now what? What do we do with this information and data that we collect during these times of retrograde?

I look to the sun’s transition into Aries to spark a fire inside of me. What I am finding is that old creative practices that I had previously put aside, have that luster again, that shine that catches your eye! All the sudden, the old inspirations, feel new again!

So, what now? If Venus retrograde has made your routines feel pointless and Mercury retrograde has you second-guessing every conversation, you’re not alone. These planetary slowdowns aren’t here to ruin our lives—they’re here to help us reassess.

With the Sun moving into Aries, there’s a natural push to shake things up and try something new (or, more accurately, revisit something old that might work again). Instead of forcing the same routines that feel flat, this is the time to experiment. What used to bring you joy that you haven’t made space for lately? What small change could make things feel exciting again?

Retrogrades are about reflection, but Aries season is about action. So go ahead, poke through the ashes. I bet you’ll find an ember still glowing, just waiting for you to breathe life back into it.

Finally, Venus and the Sun are lined up in the sky, which means it is time to rediscover what you love and to stoke the passion projects inside of you! We just had the Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere which is the beginning of the Astrological New Year. How will you use the data you’ve been collecting on yourself and take action on your revamped resolutions for the year?

If you are looking for more direction and an astrology reading is calling you, let’s plan it! I am in-person at SpiritWays in Denver on April 5. At time of publishing, I have a few time slots open. Call 303-331-1070 to book!

If you are not in the Denver area, shoot me an email to book a Zoom session! tiffany@ascext.com
